When previous clients of ours showed us the listing for this impeccably maintained Woodside estate, we knew it would be important to honor the original architecture and preserve as much detail as we could during the renovation process. Tasked with adding some personality to the family room and first floor study before touching the other areas of the home, our team drew inspiration from the French-style gardens surrounding the property. The end result is a charming, blissful balance of calming colors and energetic prints that bring the hilltop house back to life.

Originally sitting uninspired above the room’s intricate wall moulding, we brought House of Hackney’s Bryher Rose print to the central ceiling inset at the family room. Matching drapery panels offered a fun opportunity to dress the whole space with the bold floral.

The floors throughout the entire first level remain extremely well preserved, and this small study seemed a perfect room to leave the herringbone oak unadorned. With vibrant botanical walls and late afternoon sunlight, this room becomes a life-sized jewel box.
